Yellow Pages Ads Decreasing

By ReggieS On November 18, 2008 Under local business

I came across another article that articulates the reduction in print advertising, specifically in the Yellow Pages, as well as Yellow Pages online.  The below is from the article, “Extinction Threatens Yellow-Pages Publishers” by Emily Steel, that expresses what I’ve posted before regarding the reasons that as a small/local business owner, you need to be on internet in today’s environment.

Print and online ad spending on yellow pages will plummet 6.3% next year, more than double the rate of decline expected for broadcast TV, according to forecasts by Wachovia analyst John Janedis. Within the next four years, ad spending will fall 39% in print directories alone — the steepest projected decline across all local-media categories, according to media-research firm Borrell Associates.

For the rest of the article, see it here: http://finance.comcast.net/www/news.html?WSJ=1&x=http://www.comcast.net/news/articles/finance/2008/11/17/SB122688313315132107/
